Definition

SpaceX LEO maritime broadband service.

Starlink Maritime is SpaceX’s low-earth-orbit broadband service for vessels, using thousands of satellites at roughly 550 km altitude in Ku-band to the user terminal, delivering download rates of hundreds of megabits per second at latency near 25 to 60 ms. It uses a flat high-performance phased-array antenna with no moving parts and is sold under mobility plans (Priority and Mobile/Roam tiers) by data volume and priority. Maritime operators commonly run Starlink as the primary high-bandwidth link bonded with a GEO VSAT or L-band backup for redundancy.
