Holdings of Turner and constituent British marine artists.

Marine and seascape holdings at Tate Britain, the national gallery of British art at Millbank, London (opened 1897 as the National Gallery of British Art). Its core is the Turner Bequest of around 300 oil paintings and 30,000 works on paper left by J.M.W. Turner in 1851, including marine subjects such as ‘Snow Storm: Steam-Boat off a Harbour’s Mouth’ (1842). The collection also holds works by other British marine and Romantic painters.
