X-99

F4. Recreational Boating, Yachting and Sport

Definition

One-design cruiser-racer designed by Niels Jeppesen.

A 32 ft 7 in (9.95 m) one-design cruiser-racer designed by Niels Jeppesen and built by the Danish yard X-Yachts from 1985, with about 605 hulls produced. The X-99 has a fin keel, a masthead-to-fractional rig, and a four-berth interior, crewed by five for one-design racing while remaining usable for family cruising. It built strong one-design fleets in Scandinavia and northern Europe. It is a production class, not an Olympic boat, and helped establish X-Yachts in the racer-cruiser market.
