Chinese maritime university at Zhoushan.
Zhejiang Ocean University (ZJOU) is a Chinese university at Zhoushan, Zhejiang, formed in 1998 from the merger of Zhejiang Fisheries University (1958) and Zhoushan Teachers College. Sited in China’s largest fishing port and a major bulk-transshipment hub, it teaches marine science, fisheries, naval architecture, ship engineering, and maritime navigation, with seafarer-track courses mapped to STCW 1978 as amended (Manila 2010). Its emphasis on fisheries and ocean science distinguishes it from the navigation-focused Dalian and Shanghai maritime universities.
