Zwijndrecht Inland Shipping Academy

The inland-shipping school at Zwijndrecht, Netherlands, is the binnenvaart (inland-navigation) training site of the STC Group, the Dutch maritime and transport vocational college based in Rotterdam (formed 1990 from a merger of the country’s maritime colleges). It trains deck crew and skippers toward the EU inland boatmaster certificate under Directive (EU) 2017/2397 on the recognition of professional qualifications in inland navigation, distinct from seagoing STCW certification. Programs combine classroom study with logged sailing time aboard inland vessels.
