CCC Sub-Committee

A1. The IMO and the international regulatory framework

Definition

Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers.

The Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC) is one of the seven IMO technical sub-committees, reporting to both the MSC and the MEPC. It covers the IMDG, IMSBC, IBC, IGC, and IGF Codes, gas and chemical carrier construction, container safety under the CSC, and bulk-cargo liquefaction. CCC held its first session in 2014, taking over the cargo and gas-carrier work of the disbanded BLG and DSC sub-committees after the 2013 restructuring. It develops amendments for adoption by its parent committees rather than adopting instruments itself.
