Maritime Safety Committee.
The Maritime Safety Committee is the senior technical committee of the IMO, open to all Member States. It deals with navigation safety, construction and equipment, manning, collision avoidance, dangerous cargoes, and search and rescue, and it adopts amendments to SOLAS and related codes under the tacit acceptance procedure. The MSC oversees the work of the technical sub-committees and adopts resolutions prefixed MSC. and circulars prefixed MSC.1/Circ.
