European operational marine forecasting service.
The Copernicus Marine Service, CMEMS, is the European Union operational ocean-monitoring and forecasting service delivering free analyses, forecasts, and reanalyses of the global ocean and European seas. It distributes physical and biogeochemical products: temperature, salinity, currents, sea level, sea ice, waves, chlorophyll, and oxygen, blending satellite and in-situ observations with models through data assimilation. CMEMS is implemented by Mercator Ocean International and draws its global physical reanalysis from the GLORYS series and forecasts from the NEMO ocean model. Mariners, coastal agencies, and weather-routing providers use its forecasts for current, wave, and ice conditions on planned tracks.
