Donaldson Trophy

A sailing trophy carrying the Donaldson name, with the best-documented example the British Universities Sailing Association team-racing championship trophy contested between university sailing clubs. As with other patron-named cups, several clubs and associations hold trophies of this name, so the awarding body and discipline (team racing, dinghy, or keelboat) identify which is meant. The trophy is sailed under team-racing rules, where two or three boats per side score by finishing position rather than elapsed time.
