Dual-Officer Cadet Programme

A dual-officer cadet programme trains a cadet to both deck and engine Certificate of Competency standards, producing an officer who can stand watch in either department. The route combines the STCW Chapter II navigation competences with the Chapter III engineering competences and a longer, heavier syllabus. Adopted by some European and Asian operators to add crewing flexibility, it remains a minority pathway against the standard single-discipline cadetship.
