EPL Onboard Management Manual (OMM)

The EPL Onboard Management Manual (OMM) is the approved document that governs an overridable Engine Power Limitation or Shaft Power Limitation system fitted to meet EEXI. Under IMO Resolution MEPC.335(76), the OMM is verified by the EEXI surveyor and kept aboard. It describes how the limit is set and sealed, how the master may override it to a power reserve only for the safety of the ship or saving life at sea, and the record page where every override is logged and signed by the master. EPL caps maximum fuel index so the EEXI reference power is 83% of limited MCR for EPL, against 75% for SHaPoLi.
