Volvo Ocean Race campaign.
Ericsson Racing Team was a Swedish-backed campaign that competed in the 2005 to 2006 and 2008 to 2009 Volvo Ocean Races. In 2008 to 2009 it entered two Volvo Open 70 boats, Ericsson 4 and Ericsson 3; Ericsson 4, skippered by Torben Grael, won that edition and set a 24-hour monohull distance record of 596.6 nautical miles during the race. The team was a sponsored entry, not a permanent organization.
