Fleet Performance Management

E3. Technology, digitalization and smart shipping

Definition

Operational efficiency software.

Fleet performance management is software that aggregates voyage, noon-report, automatic-logging, and weather data across multiple ships to benchmark fuel efficiency, hull and propeller condition, and emissions against targets and sister vessels. It computes speed-consumption curves, ISO 19030 hull-performance indicators, and the IMO Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) per voyage, flagging underperformers for hull cleaning or trim adjustment. The function turned from advisory to compliance-grade once MARPOL Annex VI made the data-collection system (regulation 27) and CII rating (MEPC.328(76), in force 1 November 2022) mandatory, since the same datasets feed required reporting.
