Fusion Center (Maritime)
E1. Maritime security, geopolitics and riskDefinition
Regional MDA hub correlating multi-source data.
A shore-based hub that collects, correlates, and shares maritime traffic and threat data to build maritime domain awareness across a region. In counter-piracy these centers fuse AIS tracking, naval reporting, merchant-ship reports, and intelligence to flag suspicious activity and cue patrols. Examples include the Information Fusion Centre at Singapore’s Changi naval base, the Information Fusion Centre Indian Ocean Region at Gurugram, and the regional and zonal centers of the Yaounde architecture in the Gulf of Guinea. Each links to operators such as UKMTO and MDAT-GoG.
