GBR Sailing Team

The British Sailing Team is the Royal Yachting Association’s Olympic and Paralympic-class performance squad, funded in large part by UK Sport and National Lottery money since the late 1990s. British sailors topped the Olympic sailing medal table at five consecutive Games from 2000 to 2016, the team’s strongest run, with athletes such as Ben Ainslie. Sail numbers carry the GBR national prefix. It selects and prepares crews for Olympic, Paralympic and Youth events.
