International Chamber of Shipping (ICS)

The International Chamber of Shipping is the principal global trade association of national shipowner associations, representing operators of over 80 percent of the world merchant fleet. ICS speaks for shipowners at the IMO and the ILO, publishes widely used guidance such as the Bridge Procedures Guide and the tanker safety guides, and shapes industry positions on regulation, decarbonization, and seafarer matters. It is distinct from the unions and from BIMCO’s chartering focus.
