International J/24
F4. Recreational Boating, Yachting and SportDefinition
Designed by Rod Johnstone in 1977, one of the largest one-design keelboats.
The J/24, designed by Rod Johnstone in 1977, is one of the most numerous keelboats ever built, with more than 5,000 hulls and fleets on every continent. The 24-foot fixed-keel sloop with a crew of four or five launched the J/Boats marque and helped define the affordable, trailerable, one-design keelboat that an amateur crew could race competitively. It holds World Sailing international class status and a long-running world championship.
