Linnaeus University maritime campus in Sweden.
A Swedish maritime academy at Kalmar, on the Baltic coast, part of Linnaeus University (Swedish name Sjofartshogskolan). Founded in 1842, it is one of Europe’s older maritime schools and now teaches around 700 students on programs leading to master mariner, chief engineer, marine engineer, and electro-technical officer (ETO) qualifications, plus master’s degrees in maritime science. Its certificates map to STCW competence standards; Linnaeus University itself formed in 2010 by the merger of Vaxjo University and Kalmar University.
