Kuwait Maritime Museum

A museum in Kuwait City devoted to the pre-oil seafaring economy of the Persian Gulf: pearl diving, dhow construction, and the long-distance trade to India and East Africa that sustained Kuwait before the 1930s. Exhibits document the boom (pearling) season, the wooden dhow types such as the boom and the sambuk, the diver’s equipment, and the navigators who sailed the monsoon routes.
