FAL Convention-mandated digital port clearance interface.
A single digital portal through which a ship submits all the information that authorities require on arrival, stay, and departure, entering each data element once for reuse across agencies. The IMO FAL Convention made the Maritime Single Window mandatory: the amendments adopted under FAL 46 require public authorities to operate an MSW for electronic exchange of FAL-form data from 1 January 2024. It cuts duplicate paperwork and feeds port clearance, customs, and security screening.
