National Counter-Piracy Centre

A state-level body that coordinates a flag, coastal, or port state’s response to piracy and armed robbery, linking that state’s navy, coast guard, shipping authority, and law enforcement to regional and industry mechanisms. Functions overlap with Naval Cooperation and Guidance for Shipping, the doctrine for cooperation between naval authorities and merchant ships. National centers feed the regional architecture, reporting into hubs such as the Yaounde fusion centers, ReCAAP focal points, or the Indian Ocean centers, and act as the national contact for incident reporting and prosecution.
