Noon Report Automation
E3. Technology, digitalization and smart shippingDefinition
Replacement of manual daily reports via IoT.
Noon report automation replaces the manually keyed daily noon report (position, distance run, speed, fuel remaining on board, consumption, and weather) with sensor-sourced data streamed from flow meters, the engine, and navigation systems. Automated capture cuts transcription error in the figures that feed CII calculation under MARPOL Annex VI and EU MRV reporting, and supports near-continuous performance monitoring instead of one daily snapshot. Data tagging typically follows ISO 19848 so signals from different equipment makers normalize to a common dictionary before reaching the shore performance platform.
