ISO 19848

ISO 19848:2018 (Ships and marine technology, Standard data for shipboard machinery and equipment) defines a standardized way to name shipboard equipment and the data channels that describe it, so sensor data can be captured and processed by software regardless of the maker. It supplies the data dictionary and structure that the ISO 19847 shipboard data server uses to share field data. Published in October 2018, it is the companion that gives meaning to the raw streams an ISO 19847 server moves, and it underpins condition monitoring, asset-performance, and class condition-based-maintenance systems that depend on consistent machinery data.
