Offshore Personal Safety Course

The Offshore Personal Safety course is the World Sailing approved training mandated under OSR 6.01 for crews racing in the more demanding offshore categories. It combines sea-survival theory and practical liferaft and lifejacket work with onboard topics such as fire, man-overboard recovery, storm sails, damage control, and the use of safety harnesses and jackstays. A current certificate, refreshed on the cycle the organizing authority sets, is a condition of entry for most offshore races.
