Oil record book

The statutory log required under MARPOL Annex I in which a ship records oil-related operations, in two parts: Part I for machinery-space operations (bilge handling, oily-water separator use, sludge disposal, bunkering) on all ships of 400 GT and above, and Part II for cargo and ballast operations on oil tankers of 150 GT and above. Each entry is signed by the officer in charge and countersigned by the master. False or missing ORB entries are among the most heavily prosecuted MARPOL offenses.
