Pallet

A pallet is a flat load platform that lets forklifts and pallet trucks move unitized goods, with ISO 6780 defining the principal sizes. The 1200 by 1000 mm and 1200 by 800 mm (Euro) footprints dominate international trade; the 1219 by 1016 mm (48 by 40 inch) GMA pallet dominates North America. Pallet footprint drives container cube efficiency, which is why pallet-wide containers exist to fit Euro pallets two abreast, and why wooden pallets fall under the ISPM 15 phytosanitary regime.
