ISPS-designated port-facility officer.
The Port Facility Security Officer is the person designated as responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Facility Security Plan and liaising with ship and company security officers. ISPS Code Part A Section 17 sets the duties: conducting the initial security survey, ensuring the facility security assessment is maintained, controlling implementation of the FSP, arranging security drills and exercises, recommending modifications, and reporting and recording incidents. One PFSO may serve more than one facility if each is named. The PFSO is the port-side counterpart to the shipboard Ship Security Officer.
