Sea Scouts is the maritime branch of the Scouting movement, training young people in seamanship, sailing, small-boat handling and water safety. It traces to Britain in 1909, when Baden-Powell’s brother Warington developed a nautical Scout program, and now runs worldwide, including Sea Scouts BSA in the United States for ages 14 to 21. Units operate from sail and power vessels and progress members through ranks tied to practical boating skill.
