Vetting Inspector (SIRE)

A SIRE inspector conducts tanker vetting inspections under the Oil Companies International Marine Forum’s Ship Inspection Report programme, the industry standard for assessing tanker safety and quality. SIRE 2.0, launched in 2024, moved the inspection to a tablet-based, risk-targeted format with a larger question pool. Accredited inspectors hold seagoing senior-officer experience and OCIMF accreditation, and their reports feed charterers’ acceptance decisions.
