Definition

Cardiff Bay collections.

A volunteer-run maritime heritage project in Cardiff associated with the historic Cardiff docks, the port that shipped South Wales coal worldwide and set the world’s first recorded million-pound trading deal at the Coal Exchange in 1907. The collection centers on small craft and the restoration of historic Welsh vessels, including replica and working boats, set against Cardiff Bay’s transformation from coal port to barrage-enclosed freshwater bay.
