World Maritime University, IMO's postgraduate institution in Malmo, Sweden.
The World Maritime University was established by the IMO in 1983 in Malmo, Sweden, to provide postgraduate education for maritime administrators, educators, and managers, mostly from developing states. It awards master’s and doctoral degrees in maritime affairs and is governed by a charter approved by the IMO Assembly. Its sister institution is the IMO International Maritime Law Institute in Malta.
