Yacht Master Coastal

The RYA Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Coastal qualification sits between Day Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore, for a skipper competent to handle a yacht on coastal passages by day and night where help is not far away. The shorebased and practical Coastal Skipper course teaches advanced pilotage, passage planning, and boat handling; the Yachtmaster Coastal certificate of competence is awarded after a practical examination and a logged seatime of about 30 days, 800 miles, and twelve night hours.
