Modern French marine watercolorist.
Yvon Le Corre, French marine watercolorist, draftsman, and author, 1939 to 2020, born in Brittany. A sailor and traveler, he painted boats, ports, and rigging in watercolor and wash and wrote and illustrated books on the sea, including ‘Les Outils des bateaux’ (the tools of boats). His work records traditional Breton and Mediterranean working craft with the eye of a practicing seaman rather than a studio painter.
