Zim Maritime Academy

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services is Israel’s national container line, founded in 1945 and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Israeli merchant-officer cadets are trained chiefly through the state-and-industry maritime training authority (the former Marine Institute lineage) toward certificates of competency under STCW 1978 as amended (Manila 2010), with ZIM historically connected to that pipeline as the principal national operator. ZIM acts as the principal national carrier and cadet sponsor within that pipeline rather than as a standalone licensing academy.
