Regulations for the Control of Pollution by Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk.
MARPOL Annex II governs the control of pollution by noxious liquid substances carried in bulk by chemical tankers. It places each substance in pollution category X, Y, Z, or OS, sets discharge criteria and prewash requirements accordingly, and requires the Cargo Record Book, the Procedures and Arrangements Manual, and an NLS or IBC-linked certificate. It entered into force on 6 April 1987.
