Fire protection, fire detection, and fire extinction.
SOLAS Chapter II-2 governs fire safety: prevention of ignition, containment, detection and alarm, escape, and suppression. It makes the Fire Safety Systems (FSS) Code and the 2010 Fire Test Procedures (FTP) Code mandatory and prescribes structural fire protection, fixed firefighting systems, fire control plans, and escape routes by ship type.
