Foiling AC75
F4. Recreational Boating, Yachting and SportDefinition
America's Cup monohull class from the 2021 edition.
The AC75 is the foiling monohull class introduced for the 36th America’s Cup in 2021: a 75-foot canting hull with no keel that flies clear of the water on two articulating T-foil arms, one lowered to leeward to provide both lift and righting moment while the windward arm is raised. The boats exceed 50 knots downwind. The class rule is shared between the defender and challengers so the contest turns on aerodynamics, foil control systems, and crew work rather than radically different hull shapes.
