University of Strathclyde naval architecture department.
The naval architecture teaching tradition in Glasgow, Scotland, now carried by the University of Strathclyde Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering. The department traces back over 130 years to the John Elder Chair of Naval Architecture (endowed 1883) and operates the largest towing and wave tank of any UK academic institution. It awards BEng and MEng degrees in naval architecture with ocean or marine engineering and runs research units in marine transportation and ocean energy.
