An IMO resolution is a numbered decision of the Assembly (prefix A.), the Council (C.), or a committee (MSC., MEPC., LEG., FAL., TC.). Resolutions adopt codes, guidelines, performance standards, and convention amendments. The prefix and the number in parentheses identify the adopting body and its session, for example MEPC.336(76) on the Carbon Intensity Indicator, adopted at the 76th MEPC session.
