Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA)

Maritime Domain Awareness is the effective understanding of any activity in the maritime domain that could affect security, safety, the economy, or the environment. It fuses AIS, satellite imagery, coastal radar, vessel registries, and intelligence into a common operating picture used by navies, coast guards, and regional fusion centers. Hubs such as the IFC-IOR at Gurugram and the Singapore Information Fusion Centre correlate multi-source data to flag dark activity, spoofing, and vessels of interest across wide ocean areas.
