Training and Doctrine (Navy)

The shore establishment that recruits, trains, and educates naval personnel and develops the doctrine they fight by. In the US Navy, Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) runs accession and skill training, while the Navy Warfare Development Center (NWDC) develops and publishes warfighting doctrine and tactics. The two functions feed each other: doctrine sets what is taught, and fleet lessons learned revise the doctrine. Together they convert recruits and new platforms into ready, qualified crews and codified ways of fighting for the operational fleet.
