Verified Emissions Report
D6. Decarbonization, emissions and alternative fuelsDefinition
Independently verified ship emissions report under EU MRV or IMO DCS.
A verified emissions report is a ship’s annual greenhouse-gas emissions statement checked by an accredited independent verifier before it is submitted to the regulator. Under the EU MRV regulation a verifier confirms the monitoring plan and the reported CO2, distance, and cargo data; under the IMO Data Collection System the flag state verifies fuel oil consumption. Verification is the assurance step that makes the data usable for the EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, and the CII rating.
