Vessel Manager

The vessel manager is the executive in a third-party ship management company who runs an assigned ship or small group of ships across technical, crewing, and operational functions. Third-party management, where an owner outsources operation to a specialist manager, governs a large share of the world fleet and is shaped by the BIMCO SHIPMAN standard agreement. The vessel manager is the single point of accountability for an owner’s ship within the manager’s organization.
