Green Cruise Ship

A cruise ship designed to cut air emissions through LNG dual-fuel or methanol engines, battery-hybrid power, shore-power connection, and exhaust treatment, meeting MARPOL Annex VI sulphur (Reg.14, 0.50 percent global cap since 1 January 2020) and NOx Tier III limits. LNG cuts SOx to near zero but carries methane slip; AIDAnova (2018) was the first LNG-powered cruise ship. Many add cold-ironing to draw shore power at berth and run an EEDI/EEXI energy-efficiency design index within MARPOL Annex VI.
