Wind Farm Service Vessel (WFSV)

Wind Farm Service Vessels are the crew transfer and service operation vessels that carry technicians and spares to operating offshore wind farms. Crew Transfer Vessels are fast catamarans for day trips to nearshore farms; Service Operation Vessels are larger, DP-equipped ships with accommodation and a motion-compensated walk-to-work gangway that let technicians live offshore and step onto turbines in higher sea states at far-from-shore farms. The choice follows the distance and the wave climate.
