The reefer-refrigerant vocabulary: the ASHRAE Standard 34 refrigerant safety classes (A1, A2L, A3), active and controlled atmosphere, fresh-air management (AFAM+), and the HFC phase-down and machinery terms. A
- A1 refrigerant class
- ASHRAE Standard 34 safety designation for non-flammable refrigerants with lower toxicity, including R-134a, R-404A, R-407C, and R-507A used historically in marine reefer containers.
- A2L refrigerant class
