- Process by which Lloyd's appointed arbitrators determine LOF awards.
- Salvage Arbitrator
- Senior barrister or retired judge appointed under the LSSA Clauses to determine the salvage award.
- Salvage Award
- Reward fixed under Salvage Convention 1989 criteria or LOF arbitration.
- Salvage Bond
- Cargo interest's contractual undertaking to provide salvage security.
- Salvage Charges

- Senior salvor in charge of on-scene operations and contract delivery.

- Field officer subordinate to the Salvage Master, classified under SCOPIC Annex B.
- Salvage Plan
- Document setting out method, equipment, and risk control for the operation.
- Salvage Reward
- Money payable to salvor for successful salvage, fixed by Article 13 criteria.
- Salvage Security
- Bond, guarantee, or cash provided by property owners to release salved property pending award.
- Salvage Services
- Acts and operations rendered under salvage law and contracts.
- Salvage Specialists India
- Indian salvage and marine services contractor.
- Salved Fund
- Total of salved vessel, cargo, freight, and bunker values to which the salvage award attaches.
- Salved Value
- Post-salvage value of ship, cargo, freight, and bunkers, the award denominator.
- SCOPIC Clause
- Special Compensation P&I Clause incorporated into LOF.
- SCOPIC Initial Security
- USD 3 million security required under Clause 4 to be provided by the P&I Club.
- SCOPIC Invocation
- Notice by the salvor under Clause 2 bringing SCOPIC into operation in place of Article 14.
- SCOPIC Remuneration
- Tariff-based payment to salvor regardless of cure when invoked.
- SCOPIC Tariff
- Annex B schedule of agreed daily and hourly rates for personnel, tugs, and equipment.
