- Common designation for a single screw, twin-screw, or three-screw positive displacement pump.
- Helically-Coiled Boiler
- Boiler design with coiled water tubes around the furnace, used in small package units.
- HFO Booster Module
- Skid-mounted unit comprising feed and booster pumps, heaters, and viscotherm for fuel injection systems.
- High-Pressure Cylinder
- Second-stage cylinder of a reciprocating air compressor delivering air to the receiver.
- High-Speed Separator
- Disc-stack centrifuge running at very high g-force for efficient fuel and lube oil cleaning.
- Holding tank
- shoreside tank for sewage or ballast reception.
- Horizontal Pump
- Pump with shaft axis horizontal, common on engine room cooling and transfer duties.
- Hot Well
- Tank receiving condensed steam and returns for feed back to the boiler.
- Hot-Surface Ignition
- Burner ignition system using a glow plug or hot element instead of spark electrode.
- HV Compressor
- Hatlapa HV series of vertical starting air compressors.
- Hydraulic power pack
- Self contained pumps, tank, and accumulator unit serving steering gear or cargo system.
- Hydraulic Pump
- Pump delivering oil to hydraulic actuators, typically axial piston or vane type.
- Hydrophore
- Pressurized tank with air cushion supplying domestic fresh and salt water.
- Hypochlorite Dosing
- Continuous chlorine injection for biofouling control or potable water disinfection.

- Periodic empty-bowl discharge cycle in a centrifugal separator to flush accumulated solids.
